Human pluripotent stem cell differentiation medium for the rapid manufacture of nociceptors by end users.

Senso-DM is a human pluripotent stem cell differentiation (hiPSC) kit that allow researchers to rapidly manufacture nociceptors at the scale needed for their laboratory. The kit is compatible with multiple hiPSC lines, as demonstrated by the three lines used at Anatomic. Suitable for pharmaceutical companies, academic research settings and other research facilities, this differentiation media removes the barriers to efficient assay development and compound screening.

Anatomic's breakthrough in producing ectoderm from hiPSCs within 24 hours provides near-immediate access to engineering neuron diversity unique to the nervous system. Senso-DM builds upon these findings to produce a highly pure population of immature sensory neurons within only seven days.


Already in use for pain-drug discovery,  Senso-DM has proven effective for pain modeling. With a reliable and reproducible source of nociceptors, drug discovery is no longer constrained by unacceptably long setup times common for other hiPSC-derived sensory neurons.

Sensory neurons were thawed at 20K neurons/cm2 and matured in Senso-MM for a week A) All donor hiPSC-derived sensory neurons show high purity without the need for mitomycin C treatment and express key DRG-specific ion channel markers NaV1.7, NaV1.8, and TRPV1. B) qPCR shows consistent levels of gene expression across donor lines and differences to primary human DRG.
